A Sleepy Sanctuary

As Jane Austen wrote in her novel Emma, “There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.” I’ve been back in the realms of Cheshire for over a week now, and words could not be more true. I love London, but it’s so wonderful to have a break from hectic city life and come back to where I grew up. I’ve spent the past few days catching up with family and friends, some of whom I’ve not spoken to in months (even years in a couple of cases). It feels quite strange that my life has changed so drastically in the past few months, yet everything here is still the same as it always has been. It’s comforting to know that, much as I’ve complained about it at times, some things never change.

There are many lovely things about being back in the tiny terraced house we Harrison’s call home, but the best by far has to be my bedroom! My uni room has absolutely nothing on my cosy little haven here, made all the more marvellous by the addition of a new bed. I only really use lamps and candles, so it’s always warm and sleepy. I’ve been tucked back up on my armchair with a blanket and one of my old books too. I’m around for another couple of weeks, so intend to make the most of it!
